HONORARY TREASURER

Michael Orbell MBE

After a career in insurance in the City of London and taking early retirement, Michael for some years took a position as Communications Director for HCPT, a British charity which takes disabled and disadvantaged children and adults to Lourdes. Its Chairman of the Executive at the time was the late Brian Burgess, one of the founders of Lexlink. Brian had since 1991 been the Secretary General of Lexlink, but with its expansion he recognised the need for Lexlink to have a Secretary General with more time at his disposal. Michael accepted his invitation to take on that role and served as Secretary General between 2005 and 2015 during which time he made an invaluable contribution to Lexlink’s development and day to day efficient organisation.

At the AGM at the 2015 Silver Jubilee Conference in Paris Michael tended his resignation as Secretary General on account of the difficulty in his attending future conferences. He was then unanimously voted to be the Honorary Treasurer of Lexlink.
