LEXLINK 2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING IN TEL AVIV
Tel Aviv, Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th October 2022
We are happy to report that Lexlink International Network’s 31st annual general meeting in Tel Aviv was a great success, due in no small part to the superb organization of our Israeli member firm, Granot Speiser Law Office. Our thanks go to Oren Speiser, Shai Granot and all their colleagues.
This was the first time that Lexlink’s Annual General Meeting was held in Israel, and it was a fantastic opportunity for all our members to learn more about Israel, its people, their culture, their traditions, and their values, not least of which is their warm hospitality.
The AGM was an unforgettable experience for all of us. Our hosts organized a wonderful three-day stay, with an opportunity to extend for those who wanted. It was a perfect mix of modern and ancient – from the cosmopolitan vibe of Tel Aviv, with its rooftops, skyscrapers, trendy restaurants, and bars, to the ancient and eternal feel of old Jerusalem with its narrow streets, ancient places of worship and dwellings, and millennia of history.
The program was extraordinary: the guided walking tour of Jaffa and of old Jerusalem will be hard to forget. The venues for the cocktails and meals included the amazing rooftop bar at the Selina Surfing Hotel in Tel Aviv, the Vicky Cristina restaurant, located close to the historic Tel Aviv train station, and the traditional Gala dinner was at Yuliya TLV in the old Tel Aviv Port area.
The AGM itself took place at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv. It should be reported that in the AGM the Executive Committee submitted the proposal, which was unanimously approved by all members present, to designate Nils Pettersen-Hagh as our first Honorary Member, as a gesture of immense gratitude to him for the passion, love, dedication, and commitment with which he has fulfilled his responsibilities, and with the hope that he will continue to be of service to Lexlink for many more years to come.
The hotel was close to the beach and the weather was warm so many of the members took the time to stroll along the beautiful promenade and some of us even ventured into the sea for a swim.
The three days in Israel were also a wonderful opportunity for the members to share their professional experiences, to update each other on new developments in the law in their respective jurisdictions, and, of course to socialize and deepen and develop lasting friendships with each other, which is one of the great traditions of our beautiful network.
Toda Oren and Shai, toda Granot Speiser, toda Israel!
